Yu-Gi-Oh! Friday Night Locals: Friday, March 31, 2023 at 7:00PM

Our next Yu-Gi-Oh! Friday night locals at Waffles and Enthusiasm will be on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 7:00PM. Entry fee is $10, each player will receive two OTS Tournament Pack 21 for participation. Format: TCG Advanced Constructed. Swiss rounds with no top cut. Maze of Memories booster packs will be awarded to the top finishers. If there are eight or more players in the tournament, First Place will win one Maze of Memories​ booster box.

Digimon Card Game Tournament: Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00PM

Our first Saturday Digimon Card Game tournament at Waffles and Enthusiasm will be on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00PM. Entry fee is $10, each player will receive on Digimon Tournament Pack for participation. Swiss rounds with no top cut. Three Dimensional Phase booster packs will be added to the prize pool for each player in the tournament. Dimensional Phase booster packs will be awarded to the top finishers. First Place will also win one Digimon Winner Pack. Players are required to have a Bandai TCG+ ID number. Players will be able to sign up for the tournament on the app starting on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Due to a software glitch, the tournament in the app/website will be called "[APRIL] DIGIMON Store Tournament Event -Beelzemon Special- [ENG]", but the tournament on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00PM will be a regular Digimon Card Game tournament.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Box Tournament: Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00PM

Not an April Fool's Day joke: To celebrate the release of the Scarlet & Violet base set, Waffles and Enthusiasm is hosting a Pokémon Standard Format on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2:00PM where First Place will win up to one Scarlet & Violet base set booster box! WE MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF TWELVE PLAYERS FOR THE FIRST PLACE PRIZE TO BE A SCARLET & VIOLET BOOSTER BOX! Invite your friends to play in the tournament.

Format
Standard Constructed. Best of two-out-of-three 60 minute swiss rounds with top cut if there are nine or more players in the tournament.

Prize Structure
Prize structure for twelve or more players:
  • First Place: One Scarlet & Violet base set booster box
  • Second Place: One Fusion Strike Elite Trainer Box
  • Booster pack prizes would be awarded to the other top finishers

Prize structure for four to eleven players:
Four Scarlet & Violet base set booster packs would be added to the prize pool for each player in the tournament. Scarlet & Violet booster packs would be awarded to the top finishers.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Battle Pack 3: Monster League Draft Tournament: Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 2:00PM

Did you know that Yu-Gi-Oh! draft tournaments exist? On Sunday, April 2, 2023 at 2:00PM, we are hosting a Yu-Gi-Oh! Battle Pack 3: Monster League draft tournament at the store. Entry fee is $20, each player will receive nine Battle Pack 3: Monster League booster packs to draft with. Format: Battle Pack - Draft. Swiss rounds with no top cut. First Place will win one Yu-Gi-Oh! booster box (either Amazing Defenders or Maze of Memories). Yu-Gi-Oh! booster packs will be awarded to the other top finishers. The Battle Pack 3: Monster League draft tournament will be capped at eight players.

How does Battle Pack - Draft work?
There will be three rounds of drafting. In the first round, each player will open three Battle Pack 3: Monster League booster packs and put the 15 cards into a pile. They will take one card from the pile, then pass the remaining cards to the person on their left. They will continue to do that until no one has any cards left to pass along. In the second round, each player will open three Battle Pack 3: Monster League booster packs and put the 15 cards into a pile. They will take one card from the pile, then pass the remaining cards to the person on their right. They will continue to do that until no one has any cards left to pass along. In the third round, each player will open three Battle Pack 3: Monster League booster packs and put the 15 cards into a pile. They will take one card from the pile, then pass the remaining cards to the person on their left. They will continue to do that until no one has any cards left to pass along. Once the third round of drafting is complete, each player will have a total of 45 cards to build a 40 card deck with. Unlike a constructed tournament, monster cards are all monster types in Battle Pack - Draft.

  • First Place: x1 VIP Qualifier package for YCS Philadelphia 2023 (free Entry into the YCS, participation prizes that would be given with the paid entry fee, and two bye wins meaning you start the YCS with a 2-0 record)

One Piece Card Game tournaments twice per week at Waffles and Enthusiasm? Absolutely! Our first Tuesday night One Piece Card Game tournament will be on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 7:00PM. Entry fee is $10, each player will receive one One Piece Card Game Tournament Pack Volume 2 for participation. Swiss rounds with no top cut. Paramount War booster packs will be awarded to the top finishers. First Place will also win one One Piece Card Game Winner Pack.

Magic the Gathering Events at Waffles and Enthusiasm

We are now scheduling same-day Magic the Gathering events at Waffles and Enthusiasm! What does this mean? If you and three friends want to come to the store same day and play in a Magic the Gathering event, we can schedule a tournament for that day! For example if you and three friends want to draft Phyrexia: All Will Be One on a Tuesday, you and your friends can come to the store and draft that same day. Entry fee for the event would be announced prior to registration opening. The event can be draft, Pioneer, Modern, Standard, Commander, etc. We will continue to have draft on Saturdays at 1:00PM, but we want to expand our Magic the Gathering events at the store. The event can be on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday.

Battle Spirits Saga Tournaments Coming to Waffles and Enthusiasm in May 2023

Bandai is releasing a new trading card game in the US called Battle Spirits Saga. The first products will be released on Friday, April 28, 2023. We will be hosting a Battle Spirits Saga Release tournament on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 2:00PM (entry fee TBA). Starting on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, we will be hosting Battle Spirits Saga weekly tournaments on Wednesdays at 7:00PM. Entry fee will be $10, each player will receive one Battle Spirits Saga Tournament Pack Volume 1 for participation. Swiss rounds with no top cut. Battle Spirits Saga booster packs will be awarded to the top finishers. First Place will also win one Battle Spirits Saga winner pack. We have Battle Spirits Saga demo decks available at the store (the demo decks are free). If you want a Battle Spirits Saga demo deck, ask a Waffles and Enthusiasm staff member for one.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournaments at Waffles and Enthusiasm:

We have Yu-Gi-Oh! locals on Fridays at 7:00PM. We have been discussing for awhile a second dedicated Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament day at Waffles and Enthusiasm. After some thought, we decided to add Sundays at 2:00PM for Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments on our event schedule! Our Maze of Memories Case Tournament will be on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at 2:00PM, our 3 vs 3 Photon Hypernova Case Tournament will be on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 2:00PM, and our Structure Deck: Beware of Traptrix Remote Duel Release Celebration will be on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 2:00PM. Starting on Sunday, March 26, 2023, our 2:00PM Sunday Yu-Gi-Oh! locals will be $10USD entry fee, each player will receive two OTS packs for participation. Swiss rounds (with top cut if there are nine or more players in the tournament). For every eight players in the tournament, one Yu-Gi-Oh! booster box will be added to the prize pool. We will be open on Sunday, April 9, 2023 (Easter Sunday) when we'll be hosting at 2:00PM a VIP Qualifier for YCS Philadelphia 2023.

Every day (Tuesdays through Sundays) at Waffles and Enthusiasm is tabletop game day! Visit the store with friends and other trading card/tabletop game enthusiasts and play your favorite games at the store. There is no entry fee for free play. Whether it be a trading card game, miniatures game, board game, etc. all tabletop games are welcomed to be played at the store during hours of operation.
